About Caroline
I am STOTT certified in Matwork and Reformer and have trained in Cadillac, Jumpboard, Athletic Conditioning, Pre/Post-Natal, and Injuries and Special Populations.
I have an extensive background and training in working with clients with special considions or rehabilitating from injuries or surgeries including:osteoporosis/osteopenia, knee and hip replacements, spondylolisthesis, herniated discs, SI joint dysfunction, facet joint syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, shoulder injuries including bursitis and rotator cuff tears, wrist and hand injuries including trigger finger, arthritis, diabetes, hysterectomies, and much more. I also teach pre-natal and post-natal Pilates and have helped women re-connect to the pelvic floor and recover from diastisis recti.
I have worked with a number of athletes across a wide range of sports through conditioning and rehabilitative programs including: baseball, golf, boxing, swimming, cycling, marathon running, and tennis.
I have an intensive dance background and have my own dance company. I am very strong in my ability to use Pilates to work with dancers for rehabilitative, conditioning, technique training, and injury prevention purposes.
I also teach Pilates to those looking for an invigorating workout and to gain proper posture patterns.
I have taught at high quality, professional studios and colleges including: The Bay Club (San Francisco and Marin), Blue Sparrow Pilates, Centered Studio Pilates, and Napa Valley College.
I see Pilates not merely as a series of exercises and a workout, but at a tool for education on one's own body. I focus a great deal of my sessions on connecting the dots as to why we are doing the exercises we are doing, what purpose do they have in attaining the student's goals, and how can the principles behind them help to improve and be integrated into their daily life.

I will want to know the student's level of experience or knowlege of Pilates (if any).
I will need to know of injuries, aches and pains, surgeries, or any other ailments that will affect the student's ability to move safely. In some cases I might need a doctor or physical therapist's note to begin sessions.
I will want to know the student's fitness, rehabilitation, goals so we can properly target sessions to fit the individual needs of the student.
