Typically I'll ask questions to get to know why they decided to take lessons - fun/leisure, wedding, quineanera, special event, etc. We'll discuss what types of music they like and other interests. We'll get to know each other a bit, and then I'll teach dances and basics that coincide with their goals and interests.
I've worked with all types of students from all walks of life. I truly believe dance should be accessible to all, no matter what - age, ethnic background, lifestyle preferences, deaf, blind, wheelchairs... if you want to dance, I'll work with you to make it happen!
Give yourself a chance to check out multiple dance studios and instructors. Most reputable places with let you have a complimentary lesson (which we do as well) to allow one to survey the landscape and see in that environment is a place where they can thrive. And no matter where someone learns, we always welcome the public to our dance parties on Friday evenings in Maumee.
We have been involved with a fundraiser for Casa of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot counties for many years now. It is a Dancing with the Stars type event called "Stars Dancing for Casa." TBC has helped raise a lot of money over the years to help Casa continue to run programs for the kids in need by participating in this fundraiser.

The Ballroom Company (TBC) provides a positive learning environment that allows each individual to excel to their personal best. The instructors are excellent. They encourage and support us in meeting our dance goals. My husband and I have made wonderful friends there. It is a family environment. We all cheer for each other as we learn new dance styles and patterns. We always look forward to our lessons and open dancing. So blessed to have TBC in our lives!!
