About Aspen
My goal when working with students to improve their skills and success in school is to work in a way that best suits THEM, their learning style and THEIR interests. Schoolwork should be enjoyable! Let me help make it clearer, easier and fun!
What I love most about working with students is what I can learn from them!
I began working with students in the field of conservation, visiting classrooms as an education and community outreach coordinator. Shortly after, I was hired by a nonprofit to teach classes as part of an after school program.
I have a B.A. from a reading/writing intensive undergraduate program. Additionally, I have experience working with students Grade k-12 in classroom settings as well as experience developing materials and curricula.

First things first we need to communicate via phone call or email to clarify what subject/materials need to be learned/covered and make sure I am able to provide the help needed. From there we will schedule a trial session to make sure the student and I will be a good match and be able to ensure the student achieves the goals at hand. If everything goes well we schedule regular, weekly time slots for tutoring sessions.
I have worked with students k-12, but I feel best equipped to work with students grade 4-12 in writing and grade k-8 in reading.
Request a trial session to ensure you and the teacher communicate well. Without easy communication between you and your teacher/tutor reaching your educational goals may be more difficult.

Every 6th session for returning students is at a reduced rate of $15 for that session.
