About Libby
I believe reading and writing are integral to the practice of any discipline. As a kid, I was introduced to the nuances of human experience through the wonder of Greek myths, the horror of dystopian societies, and the magic of fantastic realms. My passion for literature and education led me to NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study where I concentrated on the pedagogy of storytelling. My interdisciplinary studies in literature, psychology, sociology, and philosophy culminated in my thesis on edification through storytelling and applied ethics. Since graduating in May 2021, my time is now divided between my writing projects and nannying for two boys (third and fourth grade at Dalton, both of whom are voracious readers). It always amazes me how they can synthesize and analyze problems in their homework and social lives through their interactions with literature, and I hope to share that unparalleled experience of the story with the students I tutor.
