About Sarah
Hi! My name is Sarah. I graduated from CUNY Hunter College in the Spring, with a major in Russian language and minors in English and Anthropology. I am a strong writer with a love for creative writing. I am also well trained in other areas of writing. I deeply believe that writing and literature should be fun subjects, and that learning methods vary for each person.
I am hoping to tutor students in English, and can also offer more specialized help such as public speaking, creative writing, essays, etc. I am a student that took quite a while to figure out what kind of structure I needed to perform my best academically. In high school I performed at an average level, and then in college I learned to create an environment optimal for my best work. I graduated with honors and have very strong writing skills. I also have a lot of experience working with children and special needs students. I am extremely patient and willing to create a method of learning that is fun and effective.
I love writing and helping others write. Whether its from scratch or already in the editing process, I have fun reading other peoples' work and enjoy teaching. My core values in writing center around being comfortable in using less words. Eloquence is a skill, but the foundation for effective writing that can be transferred to a real skill is built on strong communication and attention to detail. I like to teach my students that being outright with their thoughts is a great starting point in developing a tone that is their own.
