About Kjersten
I received my PhD in Modern History from the University of Oxford in 2009. Since then I have tutored students in history and English, provided SAT prep and taught history at several universities. One of the things I notice among my college students is how many of them struggle to write coherent papers. I am passionate about helping middle and high school students master this skill before entering college, as it improves their college experience so much.
I love seeing discouraged, confused students transformed into confident students as they learn the building blocks to help them succeed.
I received a perfect score on the English portion of my SAT and have tutored students in how to acheive the same. I also received my PhD in Modern History from the University of Oxford and have spent over 10 years developing college courses and teaching college students. This has all given me a great deal of experience in teaching students how to write successfully.

She brought the content to life by making historic figures relatable and by making sure that the story of history wasn't lost in the details. She did make sure we remembered details, but by showing why they were important to historic individuals and people groups that we grew to love, appreciate, or disapprove of. She was by far my favorite part of my history classes in high school. Highly recommend!
