About Scott
As a student who struggled as a reader and writer, I certainly understand a student's frustration, so I made it a point to turn a weakness into a strength and 22 years later here I am, teaching English with pride, honor, and dedication.
In those 22 years I have taught: British Lit, American Lit, Global Studies, English 9, ELA 8, Creative Writing, school sponsor of a literary magazine, Reading Intervention.
What I most enjoy is when that student gets that look. The look of "I get it." The look of satisfaction and accomplishment. There is no greater reward for a teacher than when a student thanks you for what you did or do for them. What a blessing!

My typical process for working with a new student is to get to know them first. By asking a series of questions, it helps to establish a relationship. From there, I use tools and experience to assess and address. Every child is different and each has their own unique way of learning. My style is not a one size fits all. I try to tailor my instruction that is going to maximize the student's benefit.

They way he teaches and explains things for you to understand. Best teacher I’ve had!
Mr. Reighard is amazing at what he does. A brilliant educator that explains things in detail with patience and an immense amount of caring. He was my favorite teacher and impacted me the most in my life and I highly reccomend him.
