About MEGAN
I see my job as being a facilitator or helper on the journey as a student discovers the world. I can teach the skills needed to attack concepts and grow thinking skills.
I am friendly, caring, outgoing, but quiet and love to listen. I have seen students go from failing to excelling in a short period of time.
I have tutored in person, online and in the classroom. I have also taught in person, online and in the classroom and love all three.
For the past three years I have been teaching ESL online before that I was in the classroom and before that I tutored afterschool and on weekends.
I am avaliable to help your student with Reading, Grammar, Language Arts, English, History, Science, Social Studies, Sociology, Religion, Psychology, Communication, Speech, or SAT Prep.
I love the moment a student suddenly understands new material or is able to grasp a concept for the first time. I truly enjoy seeing students learn grow and excel!
I have always wanted to be a teacher ..... my parents are teachers. I have taught everything from first grade through college.
I have taken graduate level education courses.
I have many years experience and
Bachelors, Masters, Ph.D. and TESOL degree.

I ask them what they are looking for.
I ask them how their grades are.
I ask them what they want to achieve.
I ask if they have a picture of how much time they think it will take to achieve the results they are looking for.
After I get an idea of these I try to give them an idea of what I am thinking an what I think I can help with or not help with realistically.
I might do some testing.
I have taught and tutored everything from ELA, ESL, Spanish, Piano, SAT, English, Math, Algebra, History, Science, almost every subject.
There is no magic, you have to do the work but a good tutor will sit with you and answer your questions and not give up ever even if it doesnt go well the first few times.
Perhaps the birth of our calves on the farm.... but that has nothing to do with teaching.
In teaching it would be a young girl who is taking ESL she has a rough first class well I was determined to do better second class was worse. So I pulled out all the stops in her third class and won her over now she is my favorite student is learning and absorbing English so quickly its amazing.

I do not recommend a half an hour.... to start with we will need an hour.... but if the child is very young an hour might be too long so lets talk about it....
