About John
I am an accomplished and experienced teacher of English as a Foreign Language, and also French and Russian. As a result of many years' teaching experience I have developed a flexible and adaptable teaching approach and am engaging and down-to-earth with all of my students. I am never didactic but am open-minded and am always open to the input of my students.

I have been tutoring English as a Foreign Language continuously for the last 16 years, delivering classes both remotely and in person. I have a wealth of EFL experience, having also taught English as a Foreign Language for four years on a full-time basis in Almaty, Kazakhstan. I have a very strong grasp of English vocabulary, syntax and grammar as an English native speaker, and I am particularly proficient at teaching academic writing. My EFL tuition is always tailored to my students' learning level, preferred learning style and objectives. I always offer a supportive and facilitative learning environment where each student is empowered to take ownership of their own learning and to develop a problem-solving approach when developing their English. I have a strong track record in terms of student satisfaction, accomplishment and retention and several of my students have stayed with me for several years.
