I like to get to know my students -- their interests, strengths, and fears. I will try to tailor the learning materials to their interests.
I have worked with all kinds of students -- those with learning disabilities, with advanced abilities; those who love to learn and those who hate it.
Look for someone who listens to you!
I recently have been teaching a remedial reading class for eighth graders and helped my students pass the state competency test in reading for the first time in their school careers. To see them grow in achievement and confidence has been very rewarding.
