About Tracy
I am a certified New York State English as a Second Language teacher, as well as an English 7 - 12 teacher. Since we are required to co-teach classes, I feel comfortable helping students with a variety of materials along with direct instruction in vocabulary, reading skills, and writing development.
I feel comfortable working one-on-one with students, and I tutored for several school districts in the area while my children were young.
Finally, I feel comfortable working with students over the computer. I learned a great deal during the school shut-down this spring, and I was able to directly teach my students using Google Meet and FaceTime. I am flexible using a platform that works best for you and your child.
I am a certified New York State teacher who has been in the field of education for thirty years. I have worked for both urban districts, as well as suburban and rural districts. I also worked as a tutor while I stayed home to raise my own two children. Furthermore, I do take part in regular training to keep abreast of issues in the field of English as a New Language, and I am knowledgeable of regulations for Special Education. Because of the nature of my teaching job, I have learned to be flexible to meet the needs of my individual students.

I would meet with the student and parent at a convenient location to get to know them a little. After that, i would like to conduct a brief skills assessment to see what skills he or she has right now. Finally, we would discuss goals and set up a plan to meet those targets.
