About Hannah

I am currently a sophomore at Wesleyan University, an elite, private liberal arts university located in Middletown Connecticut. I am a Film Studies and English double major, and have loved writing and reading literature ever since I can remember. I attended and graduated from Hackley School with honors, a rigorous college-preparatory school for my K-12 education. I tutored many students throughut my high school career from both private and public schools, and believe every child is talented in their own way- they just need the correct tools and attention to suceed. I do quite a bit of creative writing in my own time, but focus a lot on analytical essay writing and research papers in school. I have worked with both scientific as well as creative texts and love both. I also study Education in school. I think indivudal-focused learning is very important, and a high quality school experience is not complete without the need-specific support that every student deserves. I specialize in helping with general writing, essay writing, and teaching reading and effective reading skills, as well as teaching grammar, spelling and proofreading academic papers. I am open to helping students research for projects, teach them how to find reliable sources for papers, and how to cite outside sources. I also love working with students on their creative writing as well.

In addition to English tutoring, I can help with college prep and test prep as well. I specialize in ACT prep, especially the english and reading sections, but would be able to help with SAT prep as well. I took the English SAT subject test, as well as both english APs and did very well, and I would be more than happy to assist in these areas. I also am able to be a mentor and counselor throughout the college process. Getting to Wesleyan wasn't easy, but I learned a lot about college essay writing, testing, and applications in the process which truly opened my eyes. If a student needs any help- from crafting their personal statement to even figuring out where they may want to apply- I am your right hand man. I love giving advice, and helping in this difficult time in any way I can would be a pleasure to me.

I love teaching and working with students of all ages. I think education is one of the most important pillars of our society, and improving someone's academic journey is of utmost importance to me. Everyone should have equal ability to learn about what they love and feel passionate about, and be able to excel in school no matter their background or identity. Educating others is so gratifying for me, and love teaching about the things I love to do.
