About Zachary

I bring to the table a unique set of study skills that have developed from my own experience as a credentialed teacher, tutor, athletic coach, and behavioral intervention specialist. In addition, I have a Master's degree in education that emphasizes English language learning development. I have always had a passion for education, and am looking for the next challenge. I feel I can cultivate quality study skills for your child that will aid in elevating their educational performance to exceptional levels.

Swim Coaching. It showed me how passionate I am for working with children, and how rewarding a profession this one can be!

I have 8 years swim coaching experience which taught me the importance of creating goals and pushing yourself through the challenges to get there. Hardwork, dedication, and pulling through are very important in education, not just sports!

I have 2 years experience working as a Behavioral Intervention Implementator (BII), where I worked one-on-one with young students who are Emotionally Disturbed or have Mild-Moderate Autism.

I have also worked extensively as a Substitute Teacher, and have recently completed my Multiple-Subject teaching Credential, and am in the final stages of my Master's degree in Education.

About the lesson

The first session will begin with simple introductions and figuring out exactly what the expectations are for my services. I then like to see some of the student's past work to see where we can begin, and where we can begin to make improvements. I love asking questions to get a sense of the individual I am working with so that I can cater study techniques specifically for their work habits.

All! Infants up through high schoolers. Traditional students, English learning students, Emotionally Disturbed students, Autistic students, you name it.

Look for someone who seems passionate about what they are doing. Look for someone you think you could learn from, and who is going to try to make it interesting or fun.

I have worked with the same young autistic boy for over a year and a half, and some of the improvements he has made have been astounding. Going from non-verbal communication to full conversations.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What exactly do you need help with? Saying "I need help" is a great first step! But we need to know what you are having a hard time with up front.
