About Alexis
I have over six years of tutoring experience both through Nicholls State University and privately.
I have tutored a wide variety of students, from grade school to graduate level. I am passionate about teaching students to keep their voice in their writing while still adhering to basic grammar rules and writing standards.
I currently have a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts with minors in English, Literature, Creative Writing, Art History, and Social Sciences.
I tutored college students and grad students for over three years through my university. Then, I tutored students privately for about five years.

I conduct my tutoring sessions via skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts, whatever is available for my students. I start the session by verifying what they want to get out of the session, I read/edit/proofread for about half the alotted time, then spend the other half going over why I recommend these changes. I want my students to understand why they should consider making these changes, but my suggestions are only that.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do you want to get out of a tutoring session? Do you want a better idea of where to concentrate? Advice on an aspect of your studies? Or do you want critique? Be up front with your tutor about what you need to get out of a session, and be realistic about how long that session will need to be.

Details
I usually charge hourly rates. If you just want your essay proofread/edited, I also charge hourly, but a reduced rate.
Skype rates start at $30. Essays start at $20 an hour, and take an average of two hours for a five page double spaced essay.
