About Saron
I was a collegiate English tutor for five years at Emmanuel College in Royston, Georgia. I graduated with my Bachelor of Psychology, (with a minor in creative writing), in 2015. I earned a 3.88 GPA and also earned the English Award from the school. I was also the longest standing English tutor for the school. I loved every minute of tutoring, and I have missed it greatly since I graduated. I love helping students form ideas for papers, create a thesis, and then helping them carry it out. I also have a huge passion for helping with creative writing, with poetry and creative nonfiction being my favorite genres to work with.
I get a tremendous amount of satisfaction in seeing the "lightbulb" go off in a student's mind. Helping a key concept click, or helping him or her understand something about writing that he or she has never understood before is my favorite thing about being a tutor. I also love working with multiple learning styles, espeically kinesthetic learners. I am a kinesthetic learner myself, so I know how challenging it can be to sit down and write a research paper when the best way you learn is through hands-on activities. I love helping students overcome those challenges! I would love to connect with you on Facebook! (concealed information)
When I was a college freshman, I was recommended for Emmanuel College's Academic Resource Center (EC's tutoring center). I decided I would try it out to see if I liked it, and ended up completely falling in love with the job. I was so sad when I graduated and had to leave, and I am so looking forward to having students to help again!
I have a BA in Psychology with a minor in Creative Writing. I worked in my college's tutoring center as an English tutor for five years, and I was the longest standing tutor for the college during my time there. I underwent two semesters of formal training through the college for how to be a collegiate tutor.

Typically, the first thing I do with a new student is to address their goals for what they want to achieve through tutoring. I like to keep these goals at the forefront of my mind for the duration of the tutoring relationship. Once we establish goals, I like to assess the students' personal learning style. This helps me understand the best way the student learns, so that I can tailor the tutoring sessions in a way that will be most beneficial to the student. From there, we will establish individual goals for each tutoring session, and work to accomplish those goals.
I have worked with a variety of students, primarly college freshman and sophomores who are adjusting to college life, and learning how to write papers and conduct research for the first time. I have also worked with a high number of ESL (English as a Second Language) students.
I would look for someone who has at least a bachelor's degree, a high GPA, and a lot of experience in tutoring. Out of all of those, I would say experience is the most valuable asset to a tutor, and definitely something to look for when you want to hire someone.
I am currently taking classes to obtain my prerequisite courses for medical school, and other students often ask me to tutor them in concepts they don't understand in these science courses. I love it when they ask me for help, because I have such a passion for helping students gain a deeper understanding of the material.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think it would be helpful for students to think about the things they want to achieve through tutoring. Having both short-term and long-term goals for tutoring is very important, and helps both the student and tutor maximize their time together.

Saron has a superlative grasp of the English language and a natural talent for composition. We used to work together in a tutoring center, and I loved watching her work with students on their written works. Her attention to detail and artful style offer students a unique and thorough learning experience. Working with her led to marked improvements in students' writing. She is also very open and approachable, and a great listener, which makes her easy to work with and helps with any nervousness students may have.
Saron was a great tutor! She had helped me edit a few MLA papers for English classes before, but was a HUGE help when I had to write my first paper in APA for a psychology assignment. I had no idea what I was doing, but she helped walk me through it and I ended up getting the grade I was hoping for. She's also just an awesome person in general 😄
Saron has 5 years of tutoring experience and is able to adapt to my learning style. She was so kind, and willing to do whatever it took to help me succeed. It was obvious that I was a priority and I’ll definitely be reaching out to her again in the future.
Very helpful. Explains the subjects well.
