Hi! My name is Emily and I have tutored (K-12th grade students) as well as university level students and Corporate Executives/Working Professionals both abroad in Hong Kong and in Silicon Valley for the past 9 years. I have tutored not only ELL students but Native English speakers at every level of English proficiency and comprehension.
I graduated with a B.A. from the Ivy-League caliber, liberal arts school, Wellesley College, in Wellesley, MA where I majored in English studies.
I am equipped to teach everything from Phonics, Creative/Essay Writing, Grammar, Reading Comprehension to Public Speaking at the kindergarten and elementary school level as well English language and literature skills for middle and high school students. This includes, grammar, vocabulary building, essay writing, public speaking/speech as well as all test preps (PSAT, SAT/ACT, college essay prep, as well as AP English).
Having taught at prestigious schools, learning centers, and private tutorials with original curricula as well as given materials, I bring in a well-seasoned plethora of experiences.
As a part-time Visiting Lecturer at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, I have taught Business English to university students as well as corporate executives and working professionals alike.

Emily is a very attentive tutor who understands different children and their different needs.
Emily worked with my 7-year-old son while he was doing distance learning, helping him with online school, homework, and supplemental activities. She quickly picked up his preferred learning style, which is to quietly try everything a few times on his own before asking for (or sometimes reacting to offered) help.
Emily also worked with my 4-year-old son, who primarily attended preschool in person, but would come home and require care. With him, she understood that he wanted more proactive attention and louder, high pace activities.
Emily was incredibly kind, attentive, patient to both my kids. I would recommend her for tutoring opportunities.Emily taught my son SAT prep and tutored him for English class (he’s in grade 11).
She was so helpful and got my son from a C+ student to A- eventually!!
She is very knowledgeable, patient and kind.
Was able to connect with my son right from the start.
Would greatly recommend her as an expert tutor in English!Excellent tutor! Would recommend for sure!!
