About Katherine
I am a middle and high school English teacher. I am happy to tutor or assist college students as well. I am a professional educator with a Bachelor's degree in Language Arts Education and a teaching license. I have 2 years experience as a teacher and more than 10 years experience with various tutoring, homework help, editing, and literature help.
I actually wanted to be a music teacher, but I did not audition well enough to get into music school, so English was my back-up plan. As it turns out, I much prefer English teaching anyway.
I have a bachelor's degree in English/Language Arts education. I have taught middle and high school English for 2 years. I am also pursuing a degree in school administration.

I like to start by discussing with my student (or my student's parent) what they're goals are. If my student's goals are very specific I start with some backwards planning and create a lesson plan for how to get where we want to go. If my student's goals are more general, I prefer to start by getting to know their skills. The best way to do this is to read together!
I have worked with students from ages 11-20. I have worked with students with various disabilities including ADD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, wheelchair bound students, and ESL students.

Details
My pricing depends on the goals that my students set and how much work it will take us to get there. I usually start off with a short consultation meeting that costs just $10. This is where we discuss what your goals are. Usually, regular tutoring will costs about $25 an hour per student per session, or if you only need help with one particular test or assignment we can do a single session for $50 and just work until we are done.
