About Kiki
My parents were both language teachers so teaching was always something I knew I would do alongside performing.
I have a Bachelors and Masters degrees in music performance but teaching has always been a part of my career alongside performing.
While living in New Orleans and playing with the Louisiana Philharmonic, I was on the faculty of UNO and Tulane University. I would normally have a flute studio of 15 students per semester. During the summers between 94-04, I taught at a prestigious music school in Houston , TX.

I start by getting to know them and their specific goals for the flute lessons. From there we can decide what books and materials best suit their level of playing and needs.
I have worked with every age and level.
Find a teacher you feel comfortable with and has an upbeat attitude. Learning an instrument can be challenging but it should also be fun.
I have a student who loves to learn music just for her enjoyment. She finds songs, tunes, soundtracks and transcribes them with my help to be able to play.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
You should decide what you want out of your lessons. Is it to play with others, perform, share with friends, go to music school or become a professional.
