About Fran

I am the current Director of Instruction at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm. This is my 20th season and have taught for 30 plus years. Well respected in the MAPGA and selected as MAPGA "Teacher of the Year" in 2011. Ranked among Golf Digest Top Teachers in State since 2000.

Have taught golfers of all levels from beginner to PGA Tour level players.

It's the game I love and I enjoy helping people.

Teaching runs in my family and I have always enjoyed helping people get better.  As a player I was very much self taught so I learned some of the right and wrong ways to  play.  Going through that helped me become a better teacher.

30 plus years of golf instruction, extensive professional playing experience. PGA member since 1988.  PGA certified in Instruction.  MAPGA Teacher of the Year 2011.

Know the students history, future goals, physical attributes, time student is devoting for practice, play and lessons.  Fitting the swing to the body type.

All levels, beginner to Tour Player.

Make sure they do not have a "cookie cutter"  or system approach.  Instead, look for a teacher who treats each student as an individual.  There are many ways to play this game.

Nothing in particular, I love all sports and sporting events which are fun to attend or even watch on tv.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Anaylze your strengths and weaknesses.  Let you instructor know if you have past injuries or limitations. What are your realistic goals?  Also, let them know about the amount of follow up practice time you Intend to do.
