About Holden
Busker Shanties is a music production and property management company and multi-media artists refugee and studio. Located in The Jordan neighborhood of North Minneapolis, the Busker Shanties head quarters is home to 4 artists ofovarying practices who work, create and teach in the Twin Cities area. I myself, Holden Bothun owner and founder, have been teaching music for 2 years after having studied Jazz and Composition at Macalester college. I teach production, guitar, piano, trumpet, theory and composition, and produce and preform my own music around the area. I compose and instruct in many different genres and seek to broaden the pallet of sonic expression in all of my students by instilling a deep reverance and understanding of the systems and Harmony and rhythm we know and love.
I love music. Always have and always will. Music brings people together like no other art form. Music can teach us empathy, it can teach us math, it can teach us about politics, it can teach us about our own emotions, we can learn to overcome trama, we can use it as tool to protect ourselves and others, we use music to teach our kids about culter, we use music to bridge language barriers, music is the universal language and most importantly we will never run out of new and innovative ways to use music to change and improve our world. What I love is sharing that gift with people who wish to open and unpack it.
