About Matthew
Music, songwriting and guitar playing specifically is my life's passion and I hope to share my excitement and knowledge with all of you in a creative, fun and inspiring way!
I have been playing the guitar for 30 years and have been a professionial touring and recording artist for 17 years.
I am the current lead guitarist and songwriter for Ghost Ship Octavius (Mighty Music Records) and am the former guitar player for the bands God Forbid, Himsa and Warrel Dane's Praises to the War Machine album.

Fans of the bands I have been in wanted to learn so I began teaching and discovered that I really like it!!
Studied music theory and composition at Edmonds Community College and then at The University of Washington.
17 plus years experience as a signed touring and recording artist.
11 years as a guitar and music teacher both privately and for School of Rock in the USA and Rock School in Sofia, Bulgaria.

I need to take the time to learn about the student's current skill level and to learn what the goals and expectations are of the student. From there, I can know where to start and can develop an organized and focused lesson plan.
I have taught all levels from absolute beginners to advanced students, also ranging in age from 5 years old to the elderly.
