About Tylor
I am a certified teacher who is certified in Social Studies for secondary levels,6-12. I I finished college after I served 5 years in the United States Marine Corps an wanted to continue helping and serving the community. I have a passion for working with children of all ages and ability levels and am excited at the opportunity to help your child succeed.
When I was 16 years old I began volunteering with special needs students in an Extended School Year program that ran during the summer. That began my journey of education and jobs involved with instructing and working with children and adults.
I have worked in education for over 10 years. I have been working with special education and general education classes since I was 16. With both parents as educators I am very comfortable in that environment. I have worked for multiple summer cames, summer schools, and school districts throughout my career. During my time in the military I led many classes and seminars giving my ample experience in leadership positions and as an instructor for various skills. Since ending my active service, I have graduated from McDaniel College ,Magna Sum Laude, with a History degree and teaching certificate. I have worked as a substitute and have accepted a full time position at Ruamrudee International school in Bankok, Thailand.

The first step is to get to know the student. Teaching only works with a proper trusting relationship. Learning about the students needs, abilities, and prefrences will make and learning environment more productive. Taking time to build rapport with the student is crucial to success.
I have worked with students of all ages, 7-60+. Ability levels have varied greatly as well, from students with severe intellectual and physical disabilities, all the way to students taking advanced sciences and mathmatics in a high school setting.
I think that a student should spend some time simply asking the teacher what their area of interests are and why they want to be a teacher. A student needs to feel comfortable with a teachers instruction style and the learning environment in order to be successful.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should have a concrete idea about what they need help in, and should be able to voice what their needs and prefrences are.
