About Demetra
I am currently a certified high school math teacher in Texas with 23 years of classroom experience. I have tutored students for several years for college entrance exams and simply to improve their confidence in math. I am personable and meet student where they are to assist in their academic progress.
I started teaching because I wanted to share my joy and passion for mathematics with others.

When working with a new student, after introducing myself and sharing some details, I focus on the student and their individual needs.
I have worked with special education students, English language learners, students considered at risk, gifted students as well as general education students.
I would advise them seek someone who is qualified to meet their individual needs both academically and financially.
A student shared with me recently, that although she did not previously enjoy math, that her interactions with me gave her the confidence to try.
