About Ozzy
I am the Tutor of Oz and I offer tutoring services in mathematics and chemistry. I graduated from high school while simultaneously completing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.
From algebra and trigonometry to the atomic structure and electrochemistry, I offer my services for students of all demographics. My approach to teaching is to engage with students as if I was another peer in their classroom. I find that problem-solving together is a more effective teaching method than the traditional lecture. It is my goal to ensure students are comfortable with asking questions and communicating what about my tutoring style works and what doesn't.
I am committed to meeting the needs of students whether it is test-prep, homework help, or even just wanting to learn a new topic. STEM is a field I'm very passionate about and I intend to see students find their talents.
Throughout my high school career, it became clear to me the STEM is where my strengths are. Why do I enjoy STEM? With all its complex equations and math? Simply because there is nothing more rewarding than solving problems. Whether it's the difficult bonus question on the quiz or a breakthrough, STEM rewards problem solvers with opportunities to make a difference in the world.
While STEM concepts can be difficult to grasp, students are provided a doorway to multiple paths. I was amazed to discover how many of my interests and talents were connected to STEM.

Connecting with students is essential to making sure their comfortable with asking questions. That means getting to know a little bit about their interests and strengths. Then I would review what the student is looking for in the tutoring session and establish a plan. We will agree on goals for the student to meet to ensure they have a strong grasp on the topic in question. During the session, I will work with the student on example problems and give them some to work on alone. I encourage the student to keep asking questions if they do not understand or if they prefer I teach in a different style.
Every tutor is here to make sure you can understand what is being taught. We still are/were students and know how confusing certain topics can get. It is importat you pick a tutor that covers all the bases you're looking for. You should also pick a tutor that you feel relates to you as communication is key to your learning.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What topics do I severely need help on and how much time would I need to understand it?
Do I just need practice with using this topic in real world problem-solving or do I still need a refresher?
What do I currently know about the topic and where are my strengths?
