About Tina
Hey there! I'm Augustina and I have been tutoring math and science for over 10 years. I absolutely love what I do. I enjoy helping those who want to become better.
I have two bachelors degrees, in Biomedical Sciences and Integrative Animal Biology, with a minor in Biomedical Physics, from USF. I am currently working towards getting masters in Biomedical Engineering.
I started out working as a tutor for other companies such as Curve Setters Tutoring and Wyzant. I've tutored in several subjects, including Algebra, College Algebra, Geometry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, Differential Equations, Anatomy & Physiology, Biochemistry, and Genetics.
Not only do I help facilitate your learning but I am also there to help answer questions about college. If you're a high school student I can help walk you through the steps of figuring out what classes you need to take and how to apply. If you're a new college student, I can help you navigate OASIS and Canvas and help you figure out what classes you need to take to get your degree, and looking further ahead we can talk about the career you want to have after graduation and how to get the job that you want.
I am always learning how to be a better tutor and teacher and every student I work with helps me become better. The most valuable thing I think I can offer is showing you how to self-learn and offering the perspective of someone who has been very academically successful. There is no magic trick, it takes a lot of hard work and you have to be motivated.
I just love being able to use the knowledge I have in my everyday work, and nothing makes me happier than when students look to me for advice. I am more than just a math tutor. I am your confidante, and I am your go-to person for any type of school-related question.

I am considering getting teacher certification.

I like to see where they're at in the course and what topics are challenging them the most. I also like to try to find out what type of learner they are - visual, auditory, etc. Learning how to be better organized is also super critical and this helps the student sort through all the information that they're given and be able to come up with better questions to ask.

My rate is around $30/hr. It's higher if I have to travel further to the students location and it's less if the student can travel to my location or somewhere in the middle.
