About Abdullah
I am a professional math tutor with over 3 years of elementary through college math teaching experience. I have worked for Mathnasium as both a lower-level and upper-level tutor, and have tutored at my high school. I can teach anything from basic addition through upper level calculus. I specialize in filling in foundational gaps that help make math easier and more enjoyable for any student. SAT/ACT/TSI/ASVAB prep as well!
I applied to Mathnasium all those years ago as a joke, but I immedielty fell in love with teaching. Watching a student understand a difficult concept and finding joy in a subject that many people despise is incredibly rewarding!
I have worked as a professional tutor for Mathnasium for the greater part of two years. In that time I have been promoted multiple times for excellence in intruction and my ability to cater my knowledge to multiple grade/skill levels. Furthermore, as a math major, tackling upper-level math classes, such as Calc 4 or Linear Algebra have been a breeze due to the strong foundations of my teaching! Lastly, high scores on tests such as the SAT (1600), ACT (35), ASVAB (99/140 GT) make me especially qualified to prepare students for important standardized testing.

It is always important to assess where the student is currently at and where we need to go. Often times, difficulties in math arise from missing key pieces of fundamental knowledge from earlier grades/courses. Math is Sequential! It is imperative that we build strong foundations so that the new math we encounter is just a breeze!
I have worked with a wide variety of students! From students who can barely count to graduate students struggling to pass a Calculus course to high schoolers attempting to ace a standardized test, I have an incredibly wide variety of teaching experience across all ages and skill levels!

Details
My pricing varies generally based on the math class, the amount of times per week, and the amount of missing foundational knowledge. An Algebra student with a few Pre-Algebra holes would run roughly $35/hr. While an ASVAB student who struggles with basic concepts such as proportional thinking or fractions would run roughly $50/hr.
