About Monet

My name is Monet Nadimyan and im a high school junior who has a passion for education. I am ready to help elementary and middle school children advance the curriculum they are learning, and am ready to dedicate my time and effort into students and their education. I am currently enrolled in AP Calculus AB, AP U.S. History, AP English Language and Composition, Spanish 5-6, AP Psychology, and Student Government. I have met the principal's honor roll all throughout middle school and highschool, and am also a part of Distinguished Scholars Academy on campus. I am fluent in both Armenian and English languages, and am in the process of becoming a fluent Spanish speaker. My favorite hobbies are art, playing volleyball, and cooking. I am ready to engage in remote tutoring for children aged 5-12, and plan to make this an exciting experience for students!

I am a relatively new tutor, however I have experience in many areas that allow me to successfully tutor children. I have dedicated a lot of time over the past three years to volunteering and participating in leadership opportunities throughout my communit. I am part of my school's student government, which has taught me to engage and listen to the needs of the students on campus in order to deliver to them a unique and exciting learning experience throughout high school. I also have numerous leadership positions in school clubs, such as American Cancer Society, Red Cross, DIstinguished Scholars Academy, California Scholarship Federation, and much more. I am part of Glendale's Student Advisory Council, which works with select students from each high school in the district along with the superintendent and other education administrators to enhance the education system in our district. One of the most rewarding opportunities that I have participated in is the student ambassador program for the Glendale City Council, which has further taught me to listen and engage with the community.

When tutoring a new student, I like to introduce myself and get to know the student I am tutoring in order to get a feel of what style of learning they can adapt to best. I think it is important to enage with a student and learn their passions and goals so that I can help them reach their aspirations. Most importantly, I think that it is crucial to dvelop a connection of trust and comfort between a student and a tutor to reinforce the engagement and cooperation during a tutoring session.

I am new to remote tutoring, however I have worked with face-to-face tutoring for younger students in elementary schools. I have also participated in tutoring programs at my high school for students in 9th and 10th grade. I am a quick learner, and am ready to take on any student who needs help with elementary or middle school level math, english, and science.
