About Stephen
I tutor mathematics, statistics and related subjects (operatons research, business analytics, etc.) at all levels. Kindergarten to graduate level! I will help you or your child to think and to *understand* the material, not just to spit back answers.
Ph.D in Operations Research; two decades teaching experience at the university level;over a decade of tutoring.
I love mathematics, and I love helping people to learn about it.
I have a Ph.D. in operations research, a mathematical science. I have taught mathematics, statistics and the like at universities for many decades. For over fifteen years, I have been tutoring these subjects at all levels.

I investigate the student needs, which is often a review from previous semesters. Then we get to work: I explain concepts and methods and have the student work problems on these items.
All levels - from seven-year-olds to get a good start to returning college students and graduate students.
Make sure the tutor know the materials and has experience teaching and/or tutoring. The tutor should not just do the student's homework; s/he should help the client to be able to do so.
One of my students, then seven years old, is now a sophomore at Princeton!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should try to identify where their difficulty lies and try to articulate this to the teacher.

Steven H is a highly qualified Mathematics teacher with years of experience teaching High school/undergraduate students. Because of this experience, Steven can tailor his teaching methods to suit the personality and the inclination of individual students. My daughter started Math lessons with him from her sophomore year and within a few sessions developed a much better handle of the course. Her confidence increased and his pragmatic approach helped her overcome her anxiety to deal with difficult problems. I would strongly recommend him as a Math teacher for any high school student.
Stephen tutored my son, who was in 4th and 5th grade at the time. Stephen taught him above his grade level in algebra, logic, set theory. My son is now 20 years old and studying Molecular Biology at Princeton.
