About Jason
I am a Biology Major within the College of Agriculture and Life Science at the University of Florida who loves the idea of helping others learn difficult courses and topics that I once struggled with previously. I was able to tutor many of my friends through difficult math classes in college. Furthermore, I occasionally go to my mother's school and help the younger kids get a better understanding of the math that they are learning. I often find myself in situations where these students have different educational backgrounds and ways of learning. Having to adapt to their way of learning, I feel I am able to adjust my teaching techniques and lessons to give the student the best possible learning experience. Overall, I am a very patient and accommodating individual who will adapt to your learning preferences for the best possible outcome.
I like to see what the student is struggling with beforehand so I can come up with a lesson plan that will cover everything within that topic if possible. When we meet up, I like to give a rundown on the topic so the student can have a general idea of what he's going to learn. I will then use their provided homework/ textbook to use practice problems to further master their grasp of the concept. Using my background, I will teach the student in a way where they will be able to fluently understand how the problem works, not just learn how to get the answer. If the teacher wants the problem to solve in a particular manner, I will also learn their steps and incorporate them into my tutoring so the student will do well in the teacher's assessments.
I am a biology major in the Pre-Med field.
