When working with a prospect, the most important aspect of the entire process is building a rapport. At this point in time, students have potentially struggled with various topics, so the importance of instilling confidence in them before any tutoring begins is essential to their success. Nevertheless, prior to scheduling sessions, I like to meet with the student and/or parent(s). We work hand in hand to build their specialized plan of action. Students create a detailed description of their current situation and their desired results. Next, we come up with a set of goals and how to implement the plan of action appropriately in order to accomplish said results. This plan depends on the immediate needs of the student, but many plans include some sort of accommodation to pre and post-session communication in order to track progress.

I have taught a range of students. I have a large bank of my own notes and many memories from my own previous struggles with Mathematics while at school, so I'm well placed to offer useful explanations and tips for learning!

There’s no doubt that every person is unique in their own way, but in every classroom the following kinds students are found.

The One Who’s an Overachiever /Overactive

They ask a ton of questions, go deeper into course material than the class requires, type the notes they took by hand, and even… ask for more homework.

Hard Worker

These students are highly motivated. They know what they want and how to achieve their goal. Even though they are not always the smartest in the class, they still try hard and really get what they want.

 The One that’s Always Anxious

The anxious students worry about everything – from taking perfect notes to what people think to how writing a few sentences differently on an exam could have improved their grade and guaranteed their dream job.

Star

School celebrities can be famous/notorious for a huge number of reasons: They play sports; they are A-students, and more. They are just fabulous, no matter what they actually do. They have groups of both fans and haters, and this kind of student touches practically everyone’s feelings.

Bully

Bullys keep in awe Nerds and Intellectual Outsiders and other much weaker species. Even several years after, when school or university is in the past, Bullies’ victims recollect studying time with hatred. However, other students are of no interest for the roughs, since they can stand up for themselves.

Natural Leader

Natural Leaders have an inborn capacity to stand out like a sore thumb. They always have good ideas and know how to attract people. They are great examples to follow. That’s why students and teachers truly adore Natural Leaders.

While looking to hire a an expericed teacher, a student should consider the following qfualitites of a great teacher:

 1.    The ability to develop relationships with their students:

The most frequent response is that a great teacher develops relationships with students. Teachers need to be able to build trusting relationships with students in order to create a safe, positive, and productive learning environment. Great teachers are willing to listen to students when there is a problem

2. Patient, caring, and kind personality

Personality characteristics related to being a compassionate person and having a sensitivity to student differences, particularly with learners, was the second most quality.

3.   Knowledge of learners

This is a broad category that incorporates knowledge of the cognitive, social and emotional development of learners. It includes an understanding of how students learn at a given developmental level; how learning in a specific subject area typically progresses like learning progressions or trajectories; awareness that learners have individual needs and abilities; and an understanding that instruction should be tailored to meet each learner’s needs.

The teacher understands the pace and capacity of the student.

4.  Dedication to teaching

Dedication refers to a love of teaching or passion for the work, which includes commitment to students’ success. Responses often referred to loving the subject matter or simply being dedicated to the work. To a student, this means a teacher should be “always willing to help and give time.”

5. Engaging students in learning

Teachers should be able to engage and motivate students to learn.

I love being outside surrounded by nature - particularly in the mountains and by the ocean.

In general, I expect a salary that’s consistent with current employees at the same level. I think I can be a great help to the student, and if they agree, I’d love to hear their offer
