About Zoe
I am a graduate of Fort Calhoun High School where I was valedictorian of my class, and the outstanding math student for four years, two of which were college level courses. I am currently enrolled as a freshman in college and will be taking Calculus II.
I am passionate when it comes to helping others, and I have been tutoring a classmate, as well as others, in math and the sciences for the past five years. Math and numbers make more sense to me than most other things, and I have the ability to explain things in a way that most people can understand.
I enjoy talking to new people, and I love math, so watching other people learn math and begin to understand the subject makes me happy, especially if I can make someone else learn to love math, as well.
I have always been good at math and science, and teachers are not always able to help every student who needs it, so I started helping kids in class when the teacher was busy and it grew from there.
I tutored many of my classmates in their science and math homework since I was in the seventh grade, and I was the teacher's aide for the physical science and chemistry teacher as a senior in hihghschool.

I use the first session to figure out what type of math the student is learning and watch them do a problem to see how they do it. When they have trouble on a problem then I work through it with them, making sure that they understand everything a I am going through it. If they do not, then I figure out a new way to explain it to them, and repeat the process until they learn the information.
All types
Don't think that the first teacher you find is going to be the perfect match, there are many ways of learning math and science, so not every teacher is going to teach the same way.
I helped one of my friends and long time students get her grade up from a 75 at the beginning of the semester to a 91, by the end. This was in a class that only had 5 grades, and they were all tests.
