About Sean

Hello! My name is Sean. I've worked with kids and adults from all ages on a variety of topics including math, English, history, science, and (my favorite) music.

Everyone has different needs, whether it is learning the material needed to pass a college entrance exam or grasping the basics of arithmetic and subtraction. My aim is to help any student achieve their academic and professional goals at any level!

I hold a Master of Science in Global Sustainability Science and a Bachelor of Art in Sustainability from ASU's School of Sustainability. In my undergraduate, I also earned a Music Performance Minor through ASU's Herberger School of Music.

When I'm not tutoring, you can find me working on my startup (GrowlyDelivers.com), hiking, or playing music with my friends!

Feel free to check me out on LinkedIn! ((concealed information)

I love helping people work through difficult challenges and encouraging them to achieve at their highest level.

My best memory from tutoring is helping a young man prepare for his ACT test. After failing the test twice, I began tutoring him three times a week. A lot of work and a lot of practice tests went into this, but at the end of his last semester of high school he passed the ACT with flying colors. He got the results he needed to move on to the next stage of his academic career and I was extremely happy to help him get there.

My degrees in sustainability have required a broad background of different fields including environmental science, economics, civics and governance, and political and social science.  Through this process I also thoroughly developed my writing abilities.

Before switching to sustainability, I was in the jazz and classical bass studios at ASU’s Herberger School of Music where I studied bass performance and jazz studies.  I continue to play today and have performed with a variety of ensembles.

I try to tailor my approach to the needs of each student.  I like to spend the first session getting to know the student.  I have them tell me what their goals are, what their interests are, and what they’re struggling with.  I use this information to develop a plan for them for the rest of our sessions together.  For younger students, I like to have parents be involved and will give them regular updates at the end of every session.
