I help students figure out their material. I teach them to think about their work and come up with solutions. The eventual goal is that they no longer need me.
Scientist, by trade. BA in Biology. MS in Biochemistry. Multiple publications.

I try to figure out how they learn and shift my style to accomodate for that. The hardest student I've had was a victim of brain damage. She needed to learn basic math to complete here high school diploma. With my help, she got near perfect scores.
Usually, I take high-schoolers and college students. Sometimes, I will take middle-schoolers.

Details
It depends on the content. Simple math, like algebra and geometry, will cost less than, say, AP Calc, AP Bio, or AP Chem. The range is 30 to 45 per hour, usually.
