About David
Hi! I'm David. I have a master's degree in particle physics from the University of Washington and work at MIT as an experimental physics instructor and as a member of the Physics Education Group. I currently live near MIT and have been known to use their library resources (and sometimes the brains of my colleagues!) to hunt down answers to especially difficult questions.
I have two years of research experience in experimental low-temperature physics, six months in theoretical particle physics, and about a year in computational particle physics. These experiences, along with an advanced curriculum in subjects like quantum field theory and abstract algebra, have equipped me to answer higher-level physics questions than many available tutors.
At this time, I am especially interested in helping students with electrodynamics, analytical mechanics, quantum mechanics, and mathematical methods in physics. Meanwhile, my desire is to become proficient enough in quantum field theory (QFT) to tutor students at the graduate level, but grappling with QFT is a lifelong journey and a work in progress. Please feel free, however, to contact me with QFT questions so that I can determine whether I am able to help you.
I hope to help you grow as a professional in the field of physics, regardless of your current level. I hope to do so empathetically and knowledgeably, with a particular concern to meet you where you are, and take you one step further.
