About James
My service stands out because it teaches students skills they apply in every facet of their lives. It is extremely important that they understand the purpose in everything they do, and it is my goal to make sure that purpose is evident in their work. In doing so, students will learn critical thinking schools that they can apply across their entire scholastic career to better themselves and get them to where they want to be.
I love making people around me better. If students can work with me and get closer to achieving their goals that will be the greatest reward. I struggled growing up due to family adversity and I realized that the best influences in my life were those who taught me how to solve problems not just in the present, but in the future as well. I hope that I can pass this on to my students.
I got started with volunteering. I volunteered in many venues through school and also had many family members who I have helped with scholastic work.
I have a degree from high school for the International Baccaleureate programme, which was the most highly challenging and rigorous coursework available. This degree let me see how I stack up to other students on a global scale as opposed to just the US. In addition, this high school degree qualified me to apply to other schools outside of the US, whereas other students could not.
After highschool I chose not to pursue basketball and took an athletic scholarship to the University of Arizona, where I obtained my Bachelors Degree in Neuroscience with an emphasis in Neurobiology and a minor in Spanish. I still played on the club team at school which allowed us to compete against many other schools on the west coast. With my well rounded scholastic career I am able to deliver instructional lessons in many fields and even use Spanish on a daily basis in my other job.
I have strengths in sciences, composition, and spanish. I also have a very heavy emphasis in nutrition and exercise.

To begin, I want to establish a relationship with the student. I want to make sure that the student knows who I am as a person and what I aim to do with my students in terms of accomplishing their goals. After establishing the game plan for my students, we will aggressively move towards the goal with every lesson until the goal is reached. This will be a mixture of in-person and virtual lessons to the students'/parents' preferences. After the achievement, the student will be able to reach out to me at anytime for further lessons or assistance.
I have worked with a variety of students from elementary school to college level. Students typically seeking critical analysis skills.
I would advise the student to look for a teacher who they think they would get along with. No one wants to be taught how to do things by someone they dislike. This is why our role models are usually people we can relate to and enjoy their company/ideals. Make sure you establish a relationship with your tutor before the first lesson so that every minute counts.
The birth of my second son, Dane. I am a very family oriented person and the new addition couldn't have been more of a blessing during these uncertain times.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are my strengths and weaknesses?
What can I do to improve or emphasize these?
What lifestyle changes do I need to make to accomodate my goals?
What is something I can do better every single day?

Standard pricing will start at $50 per hour. This hour of lessons will include plans to engage the students in critical thinking skills that can be applied to all subjects. The main goal of my instruction is to make sure students can develop ways of solving problems instead of just using formulas or instructions.
