About Nate
I started teaching and tutoring while pursuing my Master's in mathematics.
I have a master's in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a bachelor's in atmospheric science and a law degree from the University of Michigan.

I typically offer a free 15-minute mini session to ensure that the student is comfortable with me, and that I will be able to help.
I have worked with students of all ages and ability levels, from elementary school to grad school. My primary focus is on tutoring student in high school and college calculus, including AP Calculus AB and BC.
Make sure you are comfortable with a tutor and that he or she can work at the pace required. All student have different needs, and you need to make sure that the tutor can provide what you need in the way that works best for you.
I recently was contacted by the parent of a student who I had tutored in a previous school year. She had been doing fine in pre-calculus, but panicked studying for her final because she had forgotten some of the concepts. We set up a 60-minute session on short notice just to review a few things. Afterward, the parent sent me a short text: "You're a lifesaver!"
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Consider how much of the material you know really well, so that you could explain it to someone else; how much you "sorta know"; and how much you are really struggling with. It can be just as frustrating for a tutor to waste time on material for which you don't need help as it can for a tutor to zoom through material and have you feeling just as lost afterward.

Details
I charge $50 per hour, and I am very flexible when it comes to scheduling. Sessions can be scheduled for any length (typically 60 minutes), but if we end early or go a little long, that is OK. I only charge for the time we actually spend working, in 15-minute increments.
