About Umar
I studied Physics at one of the best institutions in the world so Maths and Sciences are my area of expertise having always been an A* student across the board in these subjects. Building solid conceptual foundations is the best way to excel in Maths and Sciences, so rather than asking students to simply memorise information which they're likely to forget, I try to give them the understanding they need to attack problems from different angles and solve problems on the go. That way even if they forget a formula or concept, they can work it out at any moment. I also have interests in Philosophy, History, Anthropology, the Human body and Art which I like to touch on if there’s a connection to make things more real and enjoyable for the student. I have experience tutoring since 2015 and like to maintain focus on exam success, understanding how each board structures questions and tailoring my approach so the student is confident and capable when it matters.

Initially I like to understand my students' aims, areas of strength and weakness and try to assess how they might learn best. Every student's needs are different and everyone understands and retains information in different ways and this can even vary across different subjects. Once we've got a loose idea of where the student is currently at, we can formulate a plan to get them to where they want to be.
