About Lukasz

I am a Highschool Senior with a deep passion for music as well as an extensive background in piano performance and teaching. Given the fact that my mother is also an award-winning music teacher, I have been able to observe and learn from her methods on a daily basis. I have received numerous prizes in many local, state, and international competitions, as well as performed concerts internationally which have been recorded by radio and television. I have finished Certificate of Merit level 10, and am a panel honors recipient.

I have been "teaching" unofficially since a very young age, helping my mothers students when she herself was busy, or, alternatively, when she felt the student was ill prepared. I have followed in my mother's footsteps.

I have been playing piano for 12 years-through observing my mothers teaching (her students have gone on to study at universities such as Stanford, Yale, Manhattan school of music and Julliard) I was able to better understand what being a good teacher means-and implement this in my own teaching.  I intend to major in music in college (next year) and my top choices presently are Stanford, Julliard, Princeton, and the Colburn School of music.

I offer a free trial lesson in which I observe the student's musical ability while simultaneously permitting the parent to receive a better understanding of the type instruction I will offer. In general, I teach students who have not played piano before and want to gain a thorough understanding of piano playing basics; however, I am fully capable of teaching more advanced pianists.

I have primarily worked with beginning students; however, I have taught students who were fairly more advanced, and even students at the semi-professional level.

I would suggest searching for a teacher who not only went to a great university but also has had results with his students; it is important for any piano student to have a good teacher, as bad teaching can result in serious hand injuries, making piano playing, and many other activities, simply impossible.

Recently, I performed a concert in the City hall of the Poznan, Poland, in a space where composers such as Fryderyk Chopin and pianists such as Rafal Blechacz and Krystian Zimmerman have performed in the past. I found the sense of history- as well as the beautiful sound of the piano due to acoustics-completely incredible in will not forget this performance for a very long time, if ever :)!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
First, did I read what the teacher wrote? Second, has the teacher ever given any instruction on this matter? If the answer to both is no, then it is important for the student to contact the teacher- I believe great communication is important in a healthy student-teacher relationship.
