About Nico

Hi! My name is Nico Peruzzi and I am a California based music teacher with a Masters Degree in Music Education from University of the Pacific. I typically teach in-person lessons and work with large ensembles, but in light of current events I am making an effort to teach more online to keep music education going for those that are not currently able to participate in traditional ensembles or studio settings. My main instrument is the trombone but I offer lessons at the beginner and intermediate levels for all brass instruments as well as in music theory. I am very passionate about music education and believe it's very important to continue to learn and practice musical skills despite the circumstances. Please contact me if you are intersted in any of these services!

I have a bachelor's degree in music and a master's degree in music education as well as a single subject California teaching credential in music.

I start by assessing where a student is in their education. Some might need help with their expression on a solo piece, but some may still need help learning to read sheet music. From there I will use a combination of basics excercises and etudes that adress their particular needs at their skill level, in addition to working on music they are playing or want to play outside of my lessons. Every student is unique, so I start by assessing a student's unique needs and then tailor my instruction to those needs.

I have worked with many students ranging from elementary school age to college age. I specialize in low brass, but do have experience playing and teaching trumpet as well.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What types of ensembles do you want to play your instrument in and what genres of music interest you the most?

What areas do you feel you need the most help in?

What are some personal playing goals that you would like to see accomplished through these lessons?

I typically charge $25 for half hour lessons which I reccomend for beginning students (elementary and middle school) and $45 for hour long lessons which I generally recommend for students around high school age or older.
