About Alia Yasmin
I am a Romanian geopolitical analyst with a multicultural background and a strong academic foundation in international affairs (BA in International Relations, George Mason University, USA; MA in Comparative Politics, University of Bucharest, Romania). My expertise spans foreign policy, conflict analysis, international law, and human rights, complemented by solid grounding in history, philosophy, and religion. I began teaching English to international students in 2015 and later served as a teaching assistant at the University of Bucharest, leading Political Science seminars in Romanian. Since 2024, I have been teaching Romanian and English online to students from diverse backgrounds, from teenagers to adults. I am fluent in Romanian and English at a native level, and also speak French, Greek, and Turkish at an intermediate level, with basic knowledge of Arabic and Russian.

I teach Romanian and English from beginner to advanced levels with a focus on speaking, reading, and writing, while keeping grammar as a helpful tool rather than the main focus. My lessons are interactive and adapted to each student’s goals, using real conversation and practical activities to build confidence and fluency. A typical session starts with a warm-up, moves into targeted practice on key skills, and ends with a recap and personalised tips. With my background in humanities and social sciences, I can also support academic writing, presentations, and subjects such as political science, history, philosophy, and law. My lessons are ideal for learners who want to improve communication, prepare for exams, or strengthen academic skills in a supportive and engaging way.
