About Allison

What's Art Therapy (WAT) offers a variety of art therapy services and art classes for adults and children. Although my practice is based out of Los Angeles, WAT also offers virtual classes and workshops to accommodate current needs and safety concerns.

Art creates a unique modality for therapeutic interventions and can break down barriers of verbal communication, leading to new ways of healing and self-expression. In sessions, materials are adapted to each client's individual needs in order to provide sustainable coping mechanisms to ease their daily lives.

I also teach private and group art lessons for those who want to focus on skill building and creative goals. I believe that everyone is an artist inside!

I am a nationally registered art therapist with over 12 years of experience working with children and adults. I earned my Master's degree in Art Therapy and Counseling from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and my BFA in Fibers from Savannah College of Art and Design.

I have worked teaching art in private and public schools ranging in ages from Pre-K to graduate university level. Internationally, I worked as an educator and trainer for cross-cultural expressive arts programs that integrated dance and music therapy.
