I inquire what type of art they are interested in and the specific  individual goals they have for taking art lessons.

I explain all that is involed and my procedures in teaching art.

In addition I can provide art examples of the type of art they are interested in upon request.

I have tought grade school age  through adults of all ages and all levels. Begining, Intermediate and advanced.

Discuss your interests over the phone and view the teachers art work if possible through the internet. Meet in person and ask all and any questions you may have.

Ask to see the studio and the present art work the teacher is representing.

Be honest in any areas of art you may be struggling in as this will help you and the teacher to meet your goals.

Recently a student reproduced a life like painting of a dog from a photo that I love and was proud that I had a part of helping her achieve a beautiful painting and likeness.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Take an invetory of your abbilities and challenges you may have in the art you are producing or the area of art you want to learn and discuss this with the teacher.
