About Theresa
I am a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in NM and have a keen interest in anatomy. I have served as a clinical instructor to a student in a Physical Therapist Assistant program. It would be great to help students pass their board.
I have practiced yoga for 20 years. As such, I have a great deal of experience teaching breathwork and relaxation techniques. These techniques will serve us no matter what we do!
I have a Ph.D. in microbiology with 15 years of experience as a a mentor for research assistants and graduate students in molecular biology and infectious diseases.
I am an Anatomy Nerd. My job as a Physical Therapist Assistant lends well to that interest. Ditto for my 20 year yoga practice. It is most gratifying to help a patient/student attain their unique goals based on varied learning styles.
I'm passionate about teaching breathwork techniqes to manage the stresses of daily life. No matter the topic, the ability to clear one's mind even an iota is a powerful life skill.
In my days as an infectious disease researcher, it was gratifying to mentor my research assistants and interns in microbiology, cellular biology, and infectious diseases.
My first teaching experiences were in graduate school (1993). I taught microbial genetics and practical laboratory techniques at the undergraduate level.
I served as a research mentor through the years in molecular biology techniques/bacterial genetics in infectious diseases.
I've mentored 1 student Physical Therapist Assistant.
I have taught a variety of yoga styles to folks of a myriad of ages, abilities, and interests, starting in 2013.
I am a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of New Mexico
I was granted a Doctorate of Philosophy in Microbiology ijn 1995.

It is crucial to determine the student's unique goals, abilities, and drive. We all have conditions whereby we learn most effectively, so I would want to tease that out straightaway.
I also want to forge a positive and personalized relationship. I always strive for a light-hearted and engaging interactions.
I have worked with a wide range of ages (8-80) both in the Physical Therapy and Yoga studio environments. When I was in medical research, the students/assistants I mentored were in the 20ish age range.
Returning back to a live studio environment, after weeks of online yoga teaching was pretty incredible. We did a lot of very positive work online, but I have to say that to be 6 ft within my friends was pretty incredible. I can't wait to be back in the clinic for more of the same.

Details
I desire $35/hour minimum. The payment pricing for more complicated situations will be subject to agreement by both parties.
The hourly rate will also apply to my travel time in the Albuquerque area as allowed by NM State Mandate.
