About Jim
The whole point of music theory is to unlock the secrets within a given piece/ to find it's true voice - for a more meaningful interpretation of the work. That's what we will do together- learn about musical structure and tools, and how they are used by the composer to communicate
I started teaching keyboard theory in graduate school and loved it - my love of theory has always been to find out what the music is actually saying to us which makes it unbelievably fund and interesting!
I have a BM in organ, music theory and composition as well as a masters degree and DMA in organ and have been teaching theory for more than 35 years as well being an active performer.

$15/ fifteen minutes or $50/hour which leaves flexibility if we need occasional short "check in" classes. I prefer to never teach regularly for less than an hour as a basic standard.
