Cheryl Alex is a passionate joyful teacher who engages each of her students at whatever level they are at. Equally conversant on flute, piano, voice or accompaniment, Cheryl is able to teach any and all of these skills, fostering her student’s interests and encouraging their musical explorations. A local performing musician, music flows through Cheryl’s veins and it is her love of sharing music that makes her teaching so special. Lessons with Cheryl are spirited, she often accompanies her students, allowing them to understand what it is to play in time, to be on the beat, and to feel the music flow through them as it does through her.

I’ve taken lessons from Cheryl for 10 years now, and the experience is just as wonderful now as it has ever been. I’m going off to college this year and I know that I’m going to miss her so much. She is caring and supportive, as well as incredible knowledgeable in the realm of music. She’s passionate about teaching and music in general and puts all energy and effort into helping her students be the best musicians they can be!

Cheryl relates to both of my kids as musicians and works towards practical, personal goals. She is a great musician herself and knows how to push her students into real directions.

Cheryl is a very good teacher, she explains things well and has exceptional knowledge in music theory and composition.

Patient! And knowledgeable!
