About Mika

I love to see students succeed when they have reached a challenge that they are certainly capable of overcoming with the right help!

To see that moment when the material clicks is so exciting for both the student and for myself.

I am a recent college graduate (Summa Cum Laude) from Santa Clara University with a B.S. in Psychology and was awarded the Psychology Department's academic achievement award. I have tutored before during college and loved it; I am free during the summer before starting my doctorate program in the fall, so I thought this would be a great way to help anyone who might need it!

I have a B.S. in Psychology

I was a Teaching Assistant in a college level English course for a year

I have tutored before for elementary students in basic Math, History, English and some language material

About the lesson

I first would like to set up an initial meeting that allows me to get to know the student and the student to get to know me. This opportunity to learn more about each other sets the stage for later work with their needs. They have total liberty to tell me what they want to work on, I go completely based on their wants in the time that we have.

We can set up times that work with their schedules as I am completely flexible in regard to time. I want this process to be stress free for my students so they can focus on the work that needs to be done to reach their individual goals.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Sit down with yourself and think about what kinds of skills you would like to learn before going into an initial meeting with a tutor, if you have clear goals it is much easier to reach them in a timely manner. Be true and honest to yourself
