John was very patient and thorough. He allowed me to ask questions about some things I wasn't clear about. He has a great spot for training. With the classroom and shooting in the same location. I hate going to indoor ranges, because they are so loud. His has a nice safe outdoor spot.

I had no experience with guns, but John was personable, down to earth and really knew his stuff. I was a little worried before I went hoping he wasn't going to be an arrogant trainer, which would of made me nervous. We learned so much from him and I loved the real life scenarios how to handle a certain situation. I got home and texts several friends of how I LOVED my class! We would highly recommend this class. John takes a practical approach to evaluating basic safety, firearms handling and use. He utilizes examples of shoot don't shoot scenarios from the legal perspective and has a very easy going way about him.

This is my third CCW renewal class that I’ve attended and it was the easily the best one. The lecture portion was straight to the point. No fluff. The shooting portion was very enjoyable. Not only will you do the required qualification shoot, you’ll also execute a series of drills that will make you a more competent shooter. Highly recommended!

It was easy to schedule an apt. The information was given in a straight forward format. The shooting portion was stimulating from a beginner to experienced level. There was also lots of tips from personal experience with picking holsters to loading ammo. The day flew by so fast. I felt very informed when i left.

It was a small class (I prefer that), which left lots of time for discussion, and great tactical and defense training. Hands down the best class ever. I already recommended multiple people there, and 10/10 would recommend the class to anyone who needs their CCW, a renewal, or wants additional insight into handling firearms.

The whole experience was great. The shooting drills leading up to the qualifying round are a blast.

The training I received from John was great. He is a very knowledgeable, level headed, personable person/trainer. I like the small class of women we had where it was easy for him to keep track of us all if we were doing something "wrong" to correct us.
The skills he taught us were very helpful from how to load the gun, to shooting at close range in an emergency. I look forward to more training in the future.

The CCW recurrent class was quite comprehensive. John presented my wife and I with several interesting shooting scenarios that were quite interesting. Shooting session was longer that my initial CCW qualification, which was great. John was also cheaper than many who offer the class in the Reno area. Will be using him again in the future.

I am an experienced hand gun guy with a lifetime "Front Sight" membership. Moved from the socialist republic of California to NV. Needed to take a class and expected to be bored and have to put up with a class. John made it fun , I learned a ton of things and loved the experience. Long and fun drive to the boondocks but worth it . I recommend this program to all , especially those who have are already capable with a hand gun ! John is a real professional.

Very professional, yet an at ease approach and setting.

The small size and the feeling of being out in nature all at the same time brought good memories of camp style training. Martial arts for me and this place is "out there". I saw deer, free roaming cattle and a few jack rabbits. Training in this setting makes one focus just as well as the intimate class setting. They provide very knowledgeable training that really shows in how they care about self defense, law and being a good citizen, too! Highly recommend!

The CCW permit renewal class was not overcrowded so personal attention was always available if needed. John knows his stuff and imparts his knowledge in a friendly and tactful manner. I would readily take advanced classes should those be offered.

I only practiced shooting a handgun one time prior to attending the class. I appreciated how John made me feel comfortable during the classroom and hands on training. I have major test anxiety, so not knowing a lot before attending his class made me nervous. The small class and his instruction helped me to overcome my uneasiness. I have never shot a hand gun prior to this course. John was a very through instructor and put my mind at easy. We learned the basics about handling a hand gun and gave us enough information and training. He used real life examples during training that enabled a better understanding of gun safety and usage. We shot 100 rounds into targets. I was very comfortable around the hand gun after his 3 hour firearms 101 course.

John is amazing! He’s informative, thorough, and most importantly enthusiastic about his profession. We now feel so much more confident in the handling of our firearms as well as in safety, which is THE MOST important responsibility. Can’t recommend John enough. Great course.

Much better training than my original CCW class ( different company ). Safety was first and foremost, the shooting drills interesting, the facility clean and well organized. Classroom time was interesting and funny at times.

It was disciplined, structured and very comprehensive for a beginners hand gun class. More than I had hoped for and delivered in a practical and constructive manner. It was not too simple and patronizing nor was it shoot from the hip crap.
