I first me Heldie Moore (Spanish Expert) in my Spanish 2 class in my Sophomore year of Highschool. I had just come out of my Spanish 1 class from the previous year where my teacher was not an actual Spanish speaker. Many other students were in a similar situation to me where we were moving on to higher level Spanish without being prepared. Knowing this, Mrs. Moore went above and beyond to make a new curriculum for us that would not only help build a solid Spanish foundation, but would also accelerate our learning of the new material. I had Spanish 3 & 4, as well as AP Spanish with Mrs. Moore and I know more than anyone that she not only cares about her students, but more than anything she wants to see them succeed. She always went the extra mile to ensure her students are retaining the material by also providing us with extra resources outside of the classroom/tutoring. One of the main issues that new Spanish speakers or even advanced Spanish speakers have would be speaking in front of other. I know I always had a difficult time with speaking Spanish in front of other because I did not want to be embarrassed for saying something incorrectly. However, Mrs. Moore understands this and creates a safe environment to practice speaking Spanish without any judgment. For both beginner and advanced Spanish speakers, I believe that Mrs. Moore would be the best option.

Heldie is such a great teacher! She works at your speed but also challenges you. In addition to learning the language, she teaches you about different Spanish cultures. She’s incredible; I’ve enjoyed working with her so much!
