About Carla
Hi! for more specific info call or text to (concealed information)
My name is Carla Davila, With a lifelong passion for tennis that began at the age of six, I bring a wealth of experience and dedication to every lesson. I played competitively through college, winning two national championships with Barry University at the Division II level. With over seven years of teaching experience, I have worked with students ranging from three to seventy-five years old and at all skill levels, from beginners to competitive players.
What sets me apart is my holistic approach to coaching. As a certified mental performance coach specializing in tennis players as I just graduated from my masters program in Sport exercise and performance psychology. I not only focus on improving your tennis game but also on enhancing your overall well-being. I help my students develop in the physical, tactical, mental, and technical aspects of the game, which are essential for any tennis player.
The most satisfying part of my job is seeing my students achieve their goals and feel proud of themselves, both on and off the court. Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your game to the next level, I am committed to guiding you on your tennis journey
I started teaching tennis in my hometown of Peru at my local club, where I quickly fell in love with coaching and mentoring young players. This passion for teaching followed me when I moved to the United States to attend Barry University. My journey began by volunteering at local tennis clubs and coaching youth programs, which quickly evolved into a professional career. Seeing the improvement and joy in my students' faces fueled my dedication to becoming a certified tennis coach, and I furthered my expertise with a master's degree in mental performance coaching. This combination of experience and education has allowed me to effectively teach and inspire students of all ages and skill levels.
I hold multiple certifications and advanced degrees that enhance my ability to coach tennis effectively. I am a certified tennis coach with extensive training in teaching the game to all skill levels. Additionally, I have a master's degree in mental performance coaching, specializing in tennis players, which allows me to help students develop their mental toughness and resilience. I am also a certified nutritionist and personal trainer, equipping me with the knowledge to advise on proper nutrition and physical conditioning, ensuring my students are well-rounded athletes both on and off the court.

When working with a new student, I start by assessing their age and skill level to tailor the training process to their specific needs. I evaluate their abilities in four key areas: physical fitness, agility, and footwork; technical skills and technique; mental toughness, including their attitude and resilience after making mistakes; and, for more advanced players, their tactical understanding and strategies during matches. This comprehensive assessment allows me to design a personalized training program that addresses their strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring a balanced development in all essential aspects of tennis.
I have worked with a diverse range of students, spanning various ages and skill levels. My experience includes coaching young children as young as three years old, guiding them through the fundamentals of tennis, as well as working with adults up to seventy-five years old who are either new to the game or looking to refine their skills. I have also coached competitive players, helping them develop advanced techniques and strategies. My students have varied from complete beginners to intermediate and advanced players, each bringing their unique challenges and goals to the court. This broad spectrum of coaching experience has enabled me to adapt my teaching methods to suit the individual needs and aspirations of each student.
When looking to hire a tennis coach, it's crucial to find someone who aligns with your goals, interests, and energy. Look for a coach who has experience working with players at your skill level and who understands your specific objectives, whether it's improving your technique, enhancing your mental game, or preparing for competitions. It's also important to find a coach whose teaching style resonates with you and who can keep you motivated and engaged. A good coach should not only help you improve your tennis skills but also make the learning process enjoyable and rewarding. Take the time to meet potential coaches, ask about their coaching philosophy, and see if their approach matches what you're looking for in your tennis journey.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
students should consider several questions to ensure they find the right fit for their goals and aspirations. Firstly, they should reflect on their specific objectives in tennis, whether it's improving their technique, enhancing their fitness, or preparing for competitions. They should also think about their preferred learning style and any past experiences they've had with tennis coaching. Additionally, students should consider logistical factors such as their availability for lessons, budget considerations, and the location of coaching sessions. Finally, students should think about any specific concerns or areas of focus they have in mind, whether it's mental toughness, strategy development, or overall game improvement. By carefully considering these questions, students can have more productive discussions with coaches and ultimately find the right teacher to help them achieve their tennis goals.

Carla is a fantastic coach - she has extremely high tennis IQ and takes the time to work on the everything down to the detail. She has a lot of patience and a lot of game knowledge. I have worked with her on developing both my mental skills and tennis physical skills. I have made tremendous progress all across and have become a more complete player since I started working with her. Highly recommended.

Carla was great. She created such a comfortable environment on the court for my daughter and is very patient with her.
Carla is a great tennis coach, I started taking classes with her this year. What I liked the most about her coaching is that she helped me not only to improve my tennis but also to improve my mental game while playing tennis. Throughout the lessons, she would give me some advice, as she is studying sports psychology. This is what distinguishes her the most from other coaches.
I have some experience of playing tennis but Carla helped me to improve my technique and performance. She is an amazing coach, and a great hitting partner as well. I strongly recommend taking lessons with her!
Her patience with my kids, and how fun she made the lessons for them. Every lesson is different and dynamic. They are always looking forward to their tennis lesson with Carla. She is a great tennis player and loves kids.
Have my 4 & 6 year old in lessons with Carla; she’s very patient, kind, and makes the lessons fun. The girls always talk about how much fun they enjoy tennis and I believe it’s because of how Carla teaches her classes. She’s also very professional and responsive. Overall great coach.
It is important to her that I succeed in training and she clearly explains what needs to be done.
My experience with Carla has been excellent. She is patient and very focused on helping you become the best tennis player you can be. We work together on finding the weak points in my game and we focus on that. Carla also helps me with the mental aspect of tennis and I see myself improving every single lesson with her. I will recommend to friends and family as she can work very well with beginners and experienced players.
Carla was amazing, she was patient with me, she guided me all throughout the lesson and did not hesitate to tell me where I needed improvement. On top of that, she was safe, wore her mask and we practiced social distancing. Carla is extremely talented and anyone would be lucky to train with her! Truly the best :)
I am an intermediate player. Carla was able to identify potential issues with my stroke and footwork and gave great recommendations for improvement. I would highly recommend her as a coach.
