About Caitlin
New York City based Violinist Caitlin Alicia Marshall is currently earning her MM at The Manhattan School of Music. Originally from England, Caitlin was accepted into a Specialist Music Program on a full scholarship at Wells Cathedral School, a music-based curriculum high school, aged 12. During her time at Wells, she studied under Karen Leishman and Simon Smith with extensive solo and chamber education and performance opportunities. Graduating at 17, she went on to start her Bachelor of Music Degree at the Royal College of Music in London under the tutorship of Radu Blidar after being accepted into the three top schools in London. She won one of two available positions for the exchange program to The Manhattan School of Music learning under Nicholas Mann, winning a scholarship. Since 2022 she has been studying under Peter Winograd, a highly acclaimed Soloist and leader of the renowned American String Quartet who studied under the famous pedagogue Dorothy Delay.
Caitlin has performed in many chamber and solo concerts, including performances at Carnegie Hall, The Royal Albert Hall, Neidorff Karpati Hall, Kaufmann Music Centre, Cedars Hall and The Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall. She was invited to lead the English National String Orchestra at age 16 and has played many orchestral performances with world renowned conductors Leonard Slatkin, Daniel Harding, Jack Van Steen, Ben Glasberg, and Charles Hazelwood among others. With a passion for teaching, she teaches privately in both London and New York. She looks forward to continuing teaching, performing and collaborating frequently in New York.

I am very passionate about helping my students to reach their full potential and to achieve their personal aspirations in music. I aim for all my students to gain essential musical knowledge for their futures by passing on my personal experiences from 15 years in the industry, whilst ensuring to develop the necessary technical skills. I have worked with students of all levels and ages and tailor my lessons according to their individual needs and personality. I always aim to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that students want to return to.
Music is about more than learning to play an instrument; it’s a tool to explore ones expression and creativity, learn the art of self-discipline, to become a well-rounded person and so much more.
Learning the Violin should be a fun journey that I can’t wait to help you take!
